New Aussie page

If you're on the east coast of Tassie and the little penguins at Bicheno don't take your fancy or you're not up to facing the hordes on the Freycinet Peninsula tracks,
St Patrick's Head Pinnacle makes a nice afternoon out. I can almost guarantee you'll have it to yourself. When I went the intentions book hadn't been filled in for a week and the entry before that was another 10 days previous. Highly recommended.

New Aussie and Kiwi pages

Greetings aussie/kiwi alpinists.

Freda Du faur

Post-script to the Freda Du Faur article (see link below):

I was pleased to receive an email today from a bloke called Ashley Gualter. Ashley commenced a fund and recruited assistance from the Kathmandu Outdoor Company, Air New Zealand and Ed Hillary (no less!). As a result, Freda's grave will finally be marked with a headstone made from a stone from the Mt Cook area and flown free of charge to Sydney by Air New ...

Hey everybody interested in Kiwi mountains -
I've just added a page for Mt. Fox, a small lookout peak on the West Coast. I included a trip report as well - I'd love to hear from anybody else who has visited this peak!

Thanks, :P

New Zealand in late-April?

I'm thinking about visiting New Zealand in late April/early May. I'm worried that this is too late in the fall.

We're not planning any serious climbing, as my wife will be 6 months pregnant. But we are interested in normal hikes.

Any hints on best times/places to visit on the islands?

Thanks,
Morgan
