it's an annual deal so it will be back next year if you really can't think of anything...unless of course your friend picks someone else next year :)
I recently bought some snowboard pants with a deal I have. Normally I wouldn't get specialty clothing like that as I try to buy stuff with more than one purpose, but it was a good deal and they are pretty sweet.
Have fun shopping...too bad the cashmere isn't included.

Get a second pair of guide pants if you can. I am looking for a pair on sale myself as my current pair is getting a bit tattered and they seem to be available from Patagonia only certain seasons. I got a Ready Mix jacket at the Santa Cruz Outlet a couple years ago and it's a nice lightweight climbing softshell if you don't already have one of those.

My girlfriend and several climbing buddies have the Patagonia down sweater and all love it. You already have ten heavy puffies or I'd suggest the DAS, which I also got cheap at the outlet.

Stock up on Capilene!

Perhaps this is an indication of how little time I have to climb, but of late the only Patagucci stuff I've bought are their street clothes, but I really like them. Nice jeans, khakis, flannel shirts. I got a killer corduroy jacket that's really toasty but looks good too. At 50% off, the price starts dropping from the 'you've got to be kidding me' category into the reasonably priced category.

So lets just say I have an undisclosed "hook-up" whereby I can get anything at Patagonia 50% off until the 23rd.

My puzzle is that there really isn't anything I need. I own a puffy (about 10 of them now), the guide pants (im thinking maybe a second pair), wind pants (I have the ArcTeryx which I also love - and wierdly never use), and most of the rest of the stuff...

I hate to let this kind of deal pass by, but for the life of me, I cant think of something I need??? Maybe Christmas presents???

Anything I absolutely need to get from Patagonia (especially with the discount)? Thoughts would be appreciated... thanks!

R1 Hoody, Houdini, Nano puff pullover, any of the guide pants.

You need an R1 Hoody if you don't already have one.

I really like my R2 jacket, R1 Hoody, NanoPuff and my Ascentionist. That's in increasing order of love - my Ascentionist is the shizz. Best cold-weather climbing shell I've found.

If I had a 50% off coupon I'd get the M10 jacket.
