Boots for Aconcagua

by silver13 » Wed Nov 16, 2016 6:42 pm

Hi all,

I am going to climb Aconcagua in December and I have a question on the snow boots.

I have Sportiva Baruntse (Used on Aconcagua, Elbrus, Illiniza South and Chimborazo) and newly purchased Sportiva G2SM. While I am very comfortable with the Baruntse and they have been very warm shoes for the mountains I have climbed, G2SM has a clear advantage in terms of weight. I am size 45.5 and there is considerable difference in terms of weight between the two. My Crampons fits well on both.

What are your suggestions, Shall I stick with Baruntse for Aconcagua or G2SM will be fine?

Thanks in advance for your input.

I thought the G2SM was a warmer boot than the Baruntse, not that I have used it, only read reviews.
