I have been thinking back and I would add the glissade on Mt St Helen on the
Dog's Head Route between Nelson Glacier and the Dog's Head in early season.
The glissade can not be done now since the Dog's Head area of the mountain
was blown away in the eruption. If I remember correctly the glissade was
about 1,400 feet ending below the Dog's Head. Most parties camped just
below the formation before making the climb of the mountain. Anyone have
a memory of the route? :?:

Shasta was my first long glissade, and will continue to be my favorite. We were pretty out of shape/unprepared when we attempted it first in college, so that ride down was more than welcome.

REAL MEN DO NOT GLISSADE ON THEIR BUTTS

Doing so just gets your panties into a wad. STAND UP and do it like a man.

Best glissade in the lower 48? Dude that depends on the local conditions, and how much your boots are worn.
If you got new boots with new treads, you ain't glissading shit no matter where you're at.

But if your boots are moderately worn, man you can rip GS turns anywhere.

Oh, and by the way: DO NOT - AND I REPEAT DO NOT - FUCKING RUIN A GOOD COULOIR WITH YOU PANSY-ASS BUTT GLISSADES. Your butt troughs make it difficult to ski the couloirs.
