Washington scrambles in July

by mrjohnston64 » Sun May 13, 2018 5:09 am

Hey all,

I have the opportunity to do some scrambling in July. As I will be able to access Washington, I thought I would ask if anyone could recommend some routes or peaks to bag.

That's a pretty broad question, since July is prime season for most of the North Cascades. What sort of distance, elevation, and technical difficulty are you looking for?

I'm also interested in this. Bug is preventing me from posting new thread so I'll jump in here.

From California where I've done plenty of peakbagging up to soft 5th class, but I'm not sure about all the snow/glaciers. How do I find places that are just walks up to the rocky parts? How easy is it to avoid areas where one has to read the terrain to avoid plunging through the snow/ice?
