Winter K2 update:
The weather, while still bad, calmed enough to allow Txikon and his Sherpas to reach Camp 2 and the Kazakhstan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan Team to attempt to establish their C3 at 7300-meters above the Black Pyramid.

Txikon posted: "Cheppal and I have reached Camp 2 at 6650 meters. The weather conditions are bad, it's very cold and windy. Tomorrow, if the weather improves the rest of the team will go up to Camp 2."

The International team: "Vassily, Misha, Artiom and Tursunali come to the nest, which was blown off - C2. They have a spare tent with them. Goal for tomorrow is to put C3 on 7300 - in the picture it is the red circle, the deposit was left on 7200, at the top of the Black pyramid

#NangaParbat update-3 ( 28.02.2019)
The combine search operation of Askari Aviation Pakistan and three Pakistani mountaineers is going on. Daniel Nardi from Italy, and Tom Ballard from UK, who were attempting to summit Nanga Parbat through a new route, the Mummery Spur, went missing from the camp-4 on Feb 24.
As Pakistan Mountain News posted earlier, Italian Ambassador to Pakistan also conformed this through his tweet that the helicopter carrying Ali Sadpara and two Pakistani mountaineers took off from Skardu for Nanga Parbat.
The search team will try to take good advantage of the remaining hours of stable time and good visibility, which may turn bad later on. The search will be carried out through visual recognition and on ground intervention if necessary.

#NangaParbat update-1 ( 01.03.2019)

Still no good news of Daniele Nardi and Tom Ballard. Today’s plan is to pick up the Basque climber Alex Txikon with 3 of his colleagues, including a doctor, from K2 base camp to Nanga Parbat BC. Further they will try to occupy a suitable position closer to camp 1. Alex Txikon will operate three sophisticated drones with special power for the flight in high altitude that will patrol all the area of Mummery Spur, up to the route followed by missing mountaineers.

The international Kazakhstan-Russia-Kyrgyzstan expedition at K2 earlier offered their availability for this search and rescue but now they decided to give up, the expedition website states; “The Italian Search and Rescue Coordination Center at Nanga Parbat, considering the high risk to the life of rescuers, decided to use unmanned vehicles to continue the rescue operation.”

The weather though turned bad last evening but still reasonable to fly with helicopters, so we are waiting for the confirmation from the organizers.
French mountaineer Elisabeth Revol is also in contact with the organizer to provide her valuable support and experience.
Below is the picture of Broad Peak from K2 BC by Alex Txikon this morning.
