I shut Gmap4 down about a year ago when Google slashed the amount of free usage it allowed for its map API (Application Program Interface). Since that time I have been building a web map called GISsurfer which is based on the free open-source Leaflet map API. This is a public service project and part of my way to “pay it forward”.

The GISsurfer interface is the same as the one in Gmap4.

There is a beta version of the next big update to GISsurfer. This new feature lets anyone surf data that is hosted on any public-facing ArcGIS server almost as easily as surfing the internet. No GIS savvy required. Here is a web page with a link to the beta code and tips to get you started.
