Weather in the alps next week?

by mvs » Wed Jul 02, 2008 12:35 pm

Hi everyone,
Next week we are going rock climbing in the Dolomites. But I'm willing to jump on better weather in any direction. Does anybody have a read on where it will be best? Any tips appreciated, thanks!

This is the best meteo site for the Eastern Dolomites

This one for Trentino Alto Adige

I think next week it won't be that good for climbing, a lot of rain this year. Usually it's sunny in the morning and then it gets worse during the day.
Ciao!

Has been very good in Chamonix for the past week or so but it tanked big time today and isn't supposed to get better until Tuesday. That said, one thing I've learned since getting here is that the weather forecast is only good for about 12 hours. Have a hotel room full of soaking wet gear to prove it.

Did manage to get _some_ good climbing in. And this picture is why I love climbing:
