Ecuador Climbing Season

by maverick » Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:46 pm

What are typical weather/snow conditions like on Chimborazo and neighboring ranges around Thanksgiving (Nov 22-30-ish)? Has anyone skied these peaks around this time of the year? I'd appreciate any info. Thanks.

Usually one of the two "dry" seasons is mid December to mid-January. The other is June through August. The rest of the year tends to be more stormy, but the weather is unpredictable so you can get lucky in the wet season or unlucky in the dry.

A glance at the summit logs says that 4 out of 48 people that signed the log climbed the peak in November.
