Two new pages: 1 well-known mountain, good for this time of year, the other an obscure little knob in my neighborhood.

Hello,

I have adopted and fully revamped the page for Deer Mountain .

I have also added a route page for Deer Mountain: Deer Mountain Trail from Deer Ridge.

The views from this peak provide outstanding bang for the buck!

And the locals are friendly, too!

Enjoy!

Round Hill A, an Elevener near Fairplay.

I suggest doing this one in the fall when the aspen are changing and the pi$$ed off bull elk are charging.

Enjoy the views!

New Trip Report: Bluebird Day on Mount Guyot.

Image

Sorry to folks who don't like the narrative language, but...I'm not really in to producing trip reports that go like this:

6:45 AM, 9,345 feet, 13 degrees F: Put on our snowshoes.
7:30 AM, 10,999 feet, 19 degrees F: Took off our snowshoes.
9:00 AM, 13,101 feet, 21 degrees F, winds out of the west at 17 MPH: Made summit.

Etc.

Cheers,

Sarah [/img]

Added a page for Spearhead Mountain in the Mount Evans Wilderness.

I also added a route for this peak, Threemile Creek to Northeast Slopes, which makes for a divine snowshow.

I added a page for a wonderful, ranked 10er in the Pikes Peak Region, UN 10,245 B.

I also included a route to the summit: Via Barr Trail

As fantastic as the views are both en route and from the summit, I have little fear that this un-named little peak will be suddenly over-run by visitors. If nothing else, the 15 mile roundtrip with 3,800 feet of gain should take care of those with only a casual interest. 8)

Cheers!

I'd venture a guess that's looking south toward the San Juans, somewhere just south of Grand Junction. Anybody confirm/zero in?

That would be the Sangres from the Wet Mtn Valley. You can see Humboldt, the Crestones, Horn Peak, etc.

UPDATED AND IMPROVED CAPITOL REEF PAGE

Lots of links added, plus a new introductory photo gallery. It's great candy for the eyes and really shows off the diversity of Capitol Reef. We have some fantastic photographers at SP!

Yes yes yes-I know, it's UTAH-but I thought some of the Colorado folks might be interested either in the page or going to see this magnificent place for themselves. :) Some fantastic photos by folks that are serious competition to Colorado's own excellent SP photographers!
