Mt. Langley?

Has anyone tried to summit from the lakes at the northern end of the Siberian Pass Trail, heading in a north-eastern direction, just to the south of The Major General? Any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks!

I descended that way in May of 2004. We had climbed the ice in one of the chutes near Old Army Pass and didn't want to descend the same way. After our summit, we descended down just west of OAP, through Siberian Pass to Cottonwood Pass. It was long but pretty mellow from what I remember.

Soldier Lake? Nice and sandy back there on Cottonwood Lakes trail and Siberian Outpost. If you could see the calves on that ranger!! No wonder!
Doable ascent but boring for sure.........

I'm doing a 100-mi. section of the PCT next spring, From Hwy. 178 at Walker Pass to Mt. Langley & this looked like a good way to finish the hike. I haven't explored the southern Sierra, so this should be a good way to see what's out there! Elwood
