climbing in spain?

by bledl » Sun Jan 22, 2006 5:28 pm

hola locos!

i am looking for infos about the climbing areas north of barcellona...buscando info sobre los areales en el norte de barcelona...
heard a lot about montsant or siurana.
i wanna go there for two weeks in april. fly to barcelona & then travel to the area by bus. my climbing level is about maximum 6c/7a, after the winter propably more like 6a, because i am no friend of indoor climbing.
- can i get to the rocks by bus/foot?
- are there refugios or campgrounds close to the rocks
- any recommendations, which areas are good climbing for the level between 5 and 6 french scale (going with my girlfriend)
- any ideas or tipps about good places there are welcome
- any places for multi-pitch-sports-climbing?

gracias!
flo.

the best place in area of Barcelona for the rock-climbers is the massif of Monserrat (translation as "saw-mountains"). Is the paradise of the rock-climbers of all Cataluña (aiguilles, walls, ridges, extrange forms,...) at some little kilometers of the city of Barcelona. Bus available to the area; it's an important natural (forest, rocks, great landscape) and religious area (church of virgin of Monserrat with a lot of visits).
In Monserrat you had all the levels for many many weeks...
Unfourtanelly I live at 500 km of Barcelona and I don't had more information.
Try this links:

There is a spanish/catalan forum where you can ask any question, and sure will get a good answer :

Thanks for the links! I was thinking about Montserrat for this summer's road trip.
