Mt. Williamson, East Ridge

by Sam Page » Tue Dec 15, 2009 5:25 am

Can anyone direct me to info about the East Ridge (the one that splits the south and north forks of Bairs Creek) of Mt. Williamson? I am especially interested in photos of the East Ridge from the north and south. Thanks.

I can't help you with the East Ridge itself, but a friend and I had a go at the North fork of Bairs Creek last year and wimped out after a couple of miles (it's tough work, that creek).

The east ridge looks rugged from the northern side:

Thanks Peter. I had seen the second and third trip reports. They are both good trip reports, and very impressive outings as well. Thanks also for your photos. We want to avoid the lower north fork of Bairs Creek, which I'm sure you can understand.

Do you know where I can find info about Thaw's climb? A quick Google search turned up nothing.

Sam.... I gave you some wrong beta, sorry.

Kevin did do it C2C but he did "the long twisted rib" ........ my sources tell me

Up the canyon just north of willi..... the long twisted goes directly to the second summit.

my sources also tell me that the "rib" is about 1.5 miles long.

I guess the "key" is consolidated snow, all the way to your car.

I have never seen Kevin slow down enuf to write anything down.
