CFA's anyone?

by Castlereagh » Wed Dec 16, 2009 4:51 am

Anyone taking or taken the CFA's? What'd you think of it? Is it possible to pass any of the parts if you're wasting all your time on PnP?

It really sucks trying to buck down and study after 3 years of not doing anything remotely academic since college. I'd much rather argue about global warming with strangers on the internets...

You best hunker down and study. The Level 1 pass rate for 2009 is less than 50% but still considerably higher than 2008. Most folks I know go underground for a solid two months leading up to each exam.

In the technical areas, you won't get in for an interview for many jobs without certifications.

I have a couple of friends stuck on level III, which must suck. Haven't done it myself but have considered it. My employer doesn't really care but if you want to be an analyst and don't want to get an MBA, it's solid.
