Approach to Temple is not hideous w/e of 24-25april: slowshoes NOT required, but it was close :) Night-time low at 10k was 20F on the nose, daytime with zero wind was 48F and there are patches of bare earth for camp above 3rd lake in the trees. approach to the Celestial Aretes is crampon & axe req'd of course, but the snow seemed very solid (we hugged the rock to be safer) tho we saw an avalanche come down on SE facing slopes across the valley and much higher up. the aretes are patchy with snow in many cracks and piled deep on many of the lower pitches, some running water on the rock. venusian and moon goddess approaches very easy, sun ribbon very dicey

Thanks! The approach to SRA always seems to be dicey.
