Anyone looking to get out or have a group that could entertain another person on the first weekend of July? Adams, Hood, etc standard route type of climb?

Hopefully this shitty weather will clear out by then, but I am not holding my breath. Apparently that "never-summer" order I made earlier in the year was filled... Sorry about that, just trying to extend my turns for the year...

Yeah, well...

By the way, this shitty weather is supposed to be in AK not in OR! Take it back, and now! :!:

Is the road to Cold Springs open yet? Last I heard it's still a 4 mile ski in.

Maybe I should check the FS site before pontificating here...

Yep, just checked:

06/19/2010: Driveable to Morrison Campground. Parking is 3 miles short of Cold Springs. Do not block the road when you park.

Good Luck.

Yeah, looks like we're gaining about a mile a week on the road.
guess that puts us at around the 10th of July or so, before it opens up. . .

Maybe, unless this "never-summer" continues... Then it may be until the end of July before the road clears out. And that does not mean that the FS has cleared all the blow down out too... Bring your chain saw.

so not being from WA or familiar with the Adams approach, are the current road conditions making the climb a no-go? I am flying out at the end of the week and need to know what to pack/plan for. Sorry for my newbieness on the area...

 Just walk the snowy road if its not opened, a couple of extra miles shouldn't be too big a deal...
