Mt. Williamson Bair's Creek - Snow?

by kwag » Fri Apr 22, 2011 2:31 am

We're planning a little excursion to Mt. Williamson next weekend. Whats the snowpack like right now? Would I be postholing just in boots? Or are skis and skins recommended?

skis+skins/snowshoes are highly recommended...unless things have changed dramatically this week

I was up there last weekend. We carried snowshoes, but ditched them @ 8500' Would have helped out in a few places higher up, but we got by without them. Used them from 8500 to snowline on the way out. Pictures from last weekend, NF Bairs

96avs01 was it you and your partner that we met on the summit?
