Hi Yatsek - sorry it took me so long to find this post. Difficult question - honestly, I don't know what to say. As to geography, Borut is absolutely right! Otherwise, I can simply give you my very personal and thus very subjeticve idea of the matter: during the centuries of the Hapsburg Empire and from 1848 on, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, what is nowadays Slovenia was part of Austria, while Croatia belonged to the multi-ethnic kingdom of Hungary. Thus I have always seen Slovenia as being southern central European. But I'm open to objective objections!

Would you agree with Eric's view then: Slovenia being (part of) South Central Europe? Would this mean that (at least eastern) Austria is Central Central Europe?

Just as I say - from a geographical point of view, Borut is completely right!

Oh, and by the way, when you take a look at the whole of geographical Europe, which country lies in it's very middle?

Re. Jacek's map (or Wiki map to be precise). Swedes, Norwegians and especially Finns would be chuffed to hear that parts of their countries are 'central Russian'
P.S. But so are the Baltic Republics, Ukraine, Belarus and even a wee bit of eastern Poland, when I took a closer look. Alright, floristically, but...

Well, the Austrian (Austro-Hungarian) cartographers found the centre of Europe inside the Carpathians, with which I just cannot disagree although at school they taught me the centre was in Poland.
