Upload Trouble.

by mtybumpo » Tue Sep 27, 2011 4:28 am

As of late I haven't been able to upload any picture to SP. When I click submit it just "connects" for hours literally and does nothing. Any suggestions?

Can anyone help me out here? I just tried uploading a single photo. I loaded for about 3 hours before I gave up on it. :x this is ridiculous and I'd like to get it resolved, otherwise I won't be able to do much on SP anymore.

I had the same problem where it would just sit, but when I opened up a new window in "What's New", the photo was there even though it said it was still loading. You may want to try that, but it is a pain.

Yep, I have problems too. Seems to work sometimes, but not others.

Mine used to do that but now it really doesn't load at all. It just sits and sits and loads and loads with no results even when I check in "what's New".

It just took less than a minute for me to upload a picture.

Too bad this problem doesn't seem to be affecting the people who like to dump lots of pointless photos on the site at a time.

What size is the photo you're attempting to upload? It may be larger than the maximum upload size. Even if it isn't, it might take an eternity to upload an 8MB file from a below average internet connection.

I have a 6mp camera and my file sizes are usually around 3-3.5 MB. Like I said before though, I've been uploading that same file size for a long time and haven't had problems with it until the last couple of months. I only have trouble on SP too.

Sorry for my ignorance but what exactly do you mean? I think I catch your drift but I'm not entirely sure...

My apologies, I was flip. Personally, I don't upload pictures bigger than 1200x900 pix^2, unless there are route details that I don't think would show up in smaller images. It is very easy to resize images.

I think it might have been a Firefox problem. I tried uploading a few times with Google Chrome and I haven't had any problems.

I use the bulk uploader for pictures most of the time, if I ever post pointless pictures, please let me know! 8)

As for firefox, seems to work fine for me. If I notice slowness I may swap to google chrome. :)
