Tshirt design-Kilimanjaro trekking

by Roger » Thu Sep 06, 2012 2:55 am

Good Morning All
I have had to design a tshirt for Kilimanjaro trekking and would appreciate your thoughts on layout, content, style and any recommendations or opportunities for improvement.

This whole concept of design is new to me and not my speciality
Is it design ok?
Is its message clear enough
Layout ok?
Look forward to your comments so I may considering amending it before printing
Once I have received your comments I will remove this posting
Kind Regards
Roger

Looks good to me - where can I order one?
Bring a compass. It's awkward when you have to eat your friends

Both designs are not bad. However, the trail map looks a bit like a fried egg. And the only person who will know what it is is the person wearing the shirt.

As a consumer and climber, if I were looking for a Kili t-shirt, my preference would be to have a graphic, sketch or outline of the mountain on the front. It is, after all, the tallest free-standing volcano in the world. It looks pretty impressive from a distance (when you can see it through the clouds). The footprint logo is cool and can be combined with the mountain profile as you have done in the current designs.

Be sure to include the word Kilimanjaro somewhere on the shirt. Your clients will want everyone to know what their shirt is all about and that they climbed the mountain. You'll sell more T-shirts if the message is clear and they will wear it like a trophy.

FYI - if you have a good photo of Kili, you can covert it to a sketch using Photoshop or other similar image editing software app.

Here's an example of what you can do with Photoshop.

This is not the ideal photo to use since it's a pano. It may be too wide for a t-shirt. However, if you have a good shot of Kili from further away, you can do some interesting things with it on Photoshop. An abstract outline/sketch of the mountain would make a wicked cool t-shirt...!

FYI - it took me 20 seconds to make this.
