Comments on Raveltik gear?

by Jukka Ahonen » Thu Jan 05, 2012 1:18 pm

I tried to search the forums, but found no mention, so here goes:

Any commencts / experiences regarding gear by a manufacturer called Raveltik? It's (apparently) a Czech company, and I would especially like to know if their axes are worth their price? They seem to be, albeit I am quite inexperienced, to be basic tools but seem alright. I thought I'd train some technical ice climbing this winter, so I am buying my first pair of axes, all comments are welcome!

cheers,
Jukka

I am familiar with Raveltik from having spent a lot of time in the Czech Republic. I have their crampons, which are good stuff. The binding is entirely made of the sewn straps instead of the plastic bindings on heel and toe that most companies use. I have seen the axes in Hudy Sport and Rock Point (Czech shops), but I have not used them. They seem to be of good quality, and the price is right. They were just acquired by Lanex, that makes Tendon ropes.
