Pretty much all motels will set you back at least $60, so if you're gonna stay in one, I'd suggest something in Twin Mountain - much closer to Crawford Notch than North Conway, and you don't have to deal with the outlet shoppers' traffic. Then there are the two hostels in Conway and N. Conway...haven't been there in a while but my guess is 20-25 per person/per night. Those fill up quickly, though, so best to make a reservation. Of course, camping this time of year would be free...
