Question about Patagonia

by TexasClimber3 » Sun Jul 19, 2009 12:44 am

I'm planning a trip with my boyfriend to Patagonia in December. I've done a few mountains and technical climbs before, but he's a beginner. Does anyone know of any mountains or volcanoes that we could climb in 2-3 days? He's in really good shape, but I want to ease him into the world of mountain climbing. Also, we want to get a guide service for the rest of the tour. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Hello !

You can find easy climbs in Northern Patagonia, in the LAKE DISTRICT.

As Andino mentions, best spot would be the Lake District. A few ideas:
Volcan Lanín, which can be done in 2 days & can find guiding service in San Martín (Argentina)
Volcan Villarrica, which can be done in a day from Pucón (Chile)
Volcan Llaima, close to Temuco (Chile) and can be done in 1 or 2 days
