How do i start?

Strive for companions with experience to introduce and to accompany you.

Then there are lots of fine ski tours for you to go, e.g. around Bamberger Hütte or in the northern Stubai range.

Good luck.

If you are a non-skier I would recommend to start in a ski area first on prepared ground. You need some basic security within your personal technique before going into deep snow.

Once you make it down a black track without fear and falling, you can start with deep, unprepared snow at lower steepness. There are unprepared trail possibilities in many Austrian ski-areas from what I know.

Once you are fit in skiing down unprepared slopes of different conditions, you should take some lessons about the risc and danger from avalanches and so on. Buy the safety gear and get used to it.

If you are physicaly fit, then it's time for touring.

Long way, but worth it!
