South Roly Poly Mountain

by hailman » Wed Jan 03, 2018 11:54 pm

Always thought this peak's name was funny: South Yolla Bolly Mountain. I guess it's also known as Mt Linn.

Anyway...does anyone want to take a stab at it this winter? I understand there's a forest service gate that is sure to be closed, but I'm down for a long approach...

The peak is one of the most prominent in California and appears to feature some fun snowshoeing/backcountry skiing possibilities!

PS. Anyone with some actual knowledge of the area...feel free to chime in!

thanks, that is great stuff!

Interesting that spring conditions tend to form year round. That's good news since I've got a lightweight AT setup geared towards sweet sweet corn...
