Carolyn, that was a great tr. Once again it was nice meeting you, and Craig. Congrats on your first wall. Those ants were bad over in the Church Bowl area also
HA! Glad you enjoyed it, Nelson. Next is some R&R! And then a bunch more moutains and climbing... maybe a repeat of one of Craig's routes in Kings Canyon. What are you and Mama Tembo up to these days?
Actually, Mama Tembo and I are off to Scotland on Saturday! If the weather gods are good to us I'll try to get up a couple of Munros, and can then produce a trip report featuring the dreaded Highland midges.
By the way, I was really impressed when I read this report. It seems like you have progressed an amazingly long way in a short time, under the hands of a gifted mentor.
A repeat of this - http://www.summitpost.org/route/157088/freak-show.html
and since I don't think we're ready for El Cap yet this year, an obscure mystery Grade V wall in Yosemite most likely. To be announced........
Oh boy, off to Scotland! I hope you guys have a wonderful time and write a TR when you return! BTW, please don't be too impressed -- it certainly helps to have a talented (and VERY patient) mentor. :^)
Yah, you're right Rob! It still just doesn't seem like it could have been me up there. And please stay away from those murderous red ants! I think they purposely tried to bore themselves into my existing cuts and scrapes (from the wall) just to torture me!
Hi Carolyn. Thanx for the mention. It was really cool reading that "epic". I never knew what goes into doing something like that. I am humbled. I look forward to seeing your face when you describe the "ants"...
If only I were that fortunate. It's hard for an average joe to even find the time to go. With any luck we'll be back up later this year. All the best...
