Rappelling the crux - Curecanti Monster

Curecanti Monster - one of the longest ice climbs in Colorado. The approach is from the top. This year 2015 February was very warm and the conditions were not great. The ice was running with water and the ice was not completely formed at places. WI5 conditions. At least there was ice…I was worried that we may find just streaked of water on the rock. It was nearly 60F when we left my house cca 1/2 hr away.
