Reaching 1 Million

Reaching 1 Million

It's kind of silly to keep track, but on this climb I reached a lifetime accumulation gain of 1,000,000 vertical feet. My friend Alexei Evans took this photo of me on the summit of Hinkhouse Peak (7560 feet) June 3, 2012. Posted with his permission.

Note: Since this photo was taken I reached my second million and third million.

Wouldn't be nice...

to get a dollar for every vertical foot that you climb!
Okay, make that 10 bucks for each foot.

Congrats, Adam.

Re: Wouldn't be nice...

Wouldn't that be something? Enough money to climb all the time and never work. Thanks Marc.

Re: Congrats ..

Good guess! Actually it's Tower Mountain. To the left of it is Golden Horn and to the right, further back is Azurite Peak and Mount Ballard.

Re: Amazing

Thank you. I'm sure there's plenty of people who have done a lot more but it is nice to see a round number.

Great shot!

You are a verticle beast, an alpine Neanderthal. May you become a billionaire.

Re: Great shot!

Good advice. At the current rate it should only take about 7000 years to reach a billion.

Great shot!

And congrats for the 1'000'000 feet! :-) That is something to celebrate! :-)
I just calculated...one million feet, that's something like 300 kilometers...my God, Adam, you're in outer space!!! Careful of the atmospheric friction when coming back down! :D
Cheers,
Eric

Re: Great shot!

Very funny. I wonder how long it would take to acclimatize to 300 kilometers. That's pretty far into the death zone.

Re: Epic Million Picture

Yes. Now I want to be a millionaire with the dollars and not only altitude.
