Renato Casarotto (Arcugnano, 15-5-1948 – K2, 16-7-1986) was an outstanding italian mountaineer, the protagonist between the Seventies and the Eighties of climbing enterprises and experiences that have become assets of the collective imagination of the entire international mountaineering community in reason of their significant exploration and human value. He died in 1986 because of a fall into a crevasse just a few minutes from the K2 Base Camp.
