Aaron, you've outdone yourself with this one. The mountain range photos are the best I've ever seen of the San Juans. The Weminuche is one of my favorite places, and we have spoken several times of going back and doing the CD from Wolf Creek to Stoney Pass. The photos and descriptions give us more inspiration. Thanks for adding this peak and photos. Alan

Very well done and a pleasure to read.

I saw this peak from a distance in the summer of 2000 while hiking around Hunchback Pass, just south of Bear Town. You're right, it is a beautiful area.

I wish I could vote 5 stars. I'm very happy you decided to submit this peak to SP, The Pyramid is a welcome addition. Locating info on this secluded mountain is a laborious and difficult task. Would you ever want to do this hike again?

If my neck wouldn't protest to camping out, I would do the hike again. It is one of my favorites. Thanks for your vote.

I've had trouble reaching you through your email!

Awesome work (as always), inspiring mountain.

My parents just moved to Montrose; hoping to spend a good long time roaming around this area...once I escape!

Aaron,

Nice Page. Like many other individuals I have pinned over Rio Grande Pyramid from a distance (I especialy liked the views from Niagara Peak). This San Juan Pyramid is something I WILL see in summer 2004. I know some people have mixed feelings on Gerry Roach's poetic rhapsody but in his thirteeners guide I especialy appreciate his take on the Pyramid, "Rio Grande Pyramid attracts storms, the watches as they wash the embers of an ancient age". Perhaps a little cheesy, the deep past makes a significant imression on some mountains...

Jon-I just believe Gerry was in tune with this mountain as I was and he wrote what emotions the mountain brought to the surface. Cheesy, no. Poetic, indeed. Honest, you betchya. I look forward to reading your impressions of the mountain next summer. I also expect you to be the third person to sign the page's summit log! Don't let me down, now. The pressure's on!

A++ page Aaron, for one of the most uneventful mountains in the state, just kidding. Everyone should take a shot at this mountain, I can't wait for my next opportunity to get up in this area again.
