Seven Fingered Jack Summer Route

Seven Fingered Jack Summer Route

This outlines the summer route for Seven Fingered Jack. The path outlined in red is a boot path marked by cairns and is mostly class 2 with some mild class 3. The blue route is a class 3 variation which can be fun if you can distinguish between loose rock and firm rock as there is plenty of both. Getting across the couloir is a pain and is the most difficult part due to loose rock. The couloir between them is a good option when there is snow, but it is full of steep, loose, terrible rock in the summer and is not a good option. North Cascades, WA. 9-13-14

Good Route Photo

Heather and I did the blue route on the ascent (or some similar variation) and then descended the standard red route. we could tell that the top of the couloir was a very nasty place indeed.

Re: Good Route Photo

Yeah, I originally intended to do the couloir but once I got to the base and looked up at it I was like... Nope. Hence the blue route which was quite fun! Glad to see you finally made it up there!
