Sheep on the western slopes of the Lazinser Rötelspitze
In summer, sheep roam free on the hills. They are rounded up again in September.
I was glad seeing this little herd, for I was off trail, descending the western slopes of the Lazinser Rötelspitze. Yesterday, as I hiked up the Zieltal to the Lodner Hütte, I saw that high up on these slopes there was still snow, and wondered if that would be a good route. Well, after going up the normal route, I decided to find out.
I was optimistic that below the snow I would find a way down the regular hiking trail that I knew was down there. But these sheep are reassuring. If sheep can go up here, there must be an easy way down as well.
