Summit Engraving
On August 11, 1998 William Owen, Franklin Spalding, Frank Peterson, and John Shive made the first ascent of the Grand Teton via what is now known as the Owen-Spalding Route. Here are Spalding's and Shive's names engraved on a summit rock. Was this really their work or was this a later addition? The story I heard was that it was actually their work. July 2001.
