The double Watzmann

The double Watzmann

Seen on a glorious and perfect autumn morning on November 1st, 2015, while approaching St. Bartholomä over the Königssee lake by electroboat. The water was near to perfectly still!

Oh, the fall colors!

You have brought the best of what mountains offer in the fall, color, dusting of snow, calm waters to get a mirror-like reflection. Time to head out to the mountains.
Happy climbing Eric.

Re: Oh, the fall colors!

Thanks a lot, Marc! :-) Right now Austria and Bavaria are in the midst of a real dream autumn!! Wherever I look, I feel urged to get out my camera!
Hope you're having a good time as well, and sending you many greetings,
Eric

Wonderful Eric!!

I had a similar bright day on the summit of Hochwanner, hoping for more the next weekend.
Cheers, Michael

Great

Great shot Eric! As well as all the others from this trip you made. I have never visited the alps in Autumn and this photo once again shows I really have to. The distance is a bit of a problem though..Hopefully next year :-)
Cheers!

Re: Great

Thanks a lot, Lodewijk! :-) Tip: Best time to see the Alps in the full glory of autumn is end of October / beginning of November. For mountain lakes above 2000 meters, where one sees also larches, I would say mid-October. Right now seems to be a good period for the high mountains as well - I just saw a photo taken today - November 8th - by Gabriele Corvini from the summit of Lagginhorn!
Cheers,
Eric
