wonders...I wonder if it's "nameless" because it didn't have a name and then that kind of stuck. or it was deliberately named "nameless" as in that which cannot be named....

Re: wonders...Thanks for your comments. The "Nameless" is a name already given to this great Trango Tower Peak.

Re: wonders...yes, but what I'm asking is why
Afzal - Nov 4, 2009 1:11 am - Hasn't voted
Re: wonders...The tower became known as "Nameless" simply because it stands beside a slightly taller peak already named Trango Tower (6286m)

Hello Afzal:Firstly, I'd like to complement you on your
ability to create an image that evokes such a
mysterious atmosphere such as this.
Secondly, I think a lot of 'Westerners' are
totally baffled (taken aback) why such a
remarkable landform would be called "Nameless."
As you say, there's another peak next to it
known as Trango, but what confuses people
is the "Nameless" attributes defined by
giving this peak the name of Nameless.
Personally, I take pride in living in a
world where a massive peak is still considered as "Nameless." Thank you very much!

Re: Hello Afzal:Thank you very much for your complements on my work. As I have already explained that Trango Tower Group has 12 peaks which are above 6000 meters. All the peaks have been named including this peak as “Trango Nameless Tower”, because of its beauty and massiveness. However, I am collecting information from the local people and my colleagues about its name, and as soon I have received any information in this regard, I will add here accordingly. I also request to the SP members; if they have any information about the name of this peak, please add here.
Thanks again for your kind complements and question.
Best regards, Afzal

Wohoooo what a beauty!A dream of every climber...
Is this white spot in the middle a trace of a recent rockfall?
Best regards,
Kamil
