Tribute to Joe Brown, passed away two days ago

The English mountaineer Joe Brown, the first climber of the Kangchenjunga, passed away on 15th April, at the age of 89. He was a pioneer of rock climbing and exponent of a new generation of British climbers from the working class and no longer from the upper middle class. In 1952 he made what is considered his greatest masterpiece: the difficult open book-shaped dihedral of Cenotaph Corner at Dinas Cromlech in Wales, a milestone for every British climber.

Thanks

Hi Silvia,
Thanks for posting this, I hadn't realised he had died. That news has been rather buried in the media here by all the Corona virus coverage.

Re: Thanks

Hi Mike,
thank you for appreciation. Unfortunately, the media in this period speak only about the Coronavirus!
