Trinity Alps

The White Trinities from Sawtooth Ridge. Sawtooth Peak is just left of center. The Wedding Cake is the last peak on the right. Emerald and Sapphire Lakes rest in the cavernous cirque at the end of Stuart Fork Canyon. Mirror Lake is barely visible on the granite bench above and to the right of Sapphire Lake. Note the dam and waterfall at the outlet of Emerald Lake. The dam, now breached, was built in the 19th Century of cut and fitted granite to raise the lake 20 feet. July2009.
