OfflineA Little About Me
I'm experienced in technical climbing as well as alpine mountaineering and trekking. My technical skills include trad. leading up to 5.7 and sport leading to 5.11. I've climbed many Colorado 14'ers (Capitol being my proudest and Longs being my most numerous). I've done several alpine routes in the Rockies, and in 1995 summitted the trekking peak, Kala Pataar (18,000+ feet), just west of Mt. Everest. In June 2005, I experienced a close-call / crevasse rescue on Mt. Rainier; after the incident, my team continued on and summitted. I love trekking and backpacking with a passion. One of my most cherished mountain memories is the 50 highest miles of the Colorado Trail between Lake City and Silverton! I love teaching young people and the inexperienced the craft of mountaineering and the art of mountain existence. My heroes are Thoreau, Emerson, Muir, Hillary, Messner, Athans, Viesturs, Roach... and the dozens of other inspirational leaders of our craft including the Buddhists of the Khumbu.
