Honorable Mentions?

I realize Cliff Point, (see https://www.summitpost.org/cliff-point/881351) doesn't meet the 200 feet of prominence you are using for the Utah 13ers. However, since David Rose includes it in his book "Utah Thirteeners" I think it might be worth an honorable mention on this 13ers page. Likewise for 13,306 foot Second Gemini.

Re: Honorable Mentions?

Since the page is a list using a 200 feet criteria cutoff, it can't be ranked on the list. I guess I can find a way to add it somehow anyway.

It can be attached here:

As far as David Rose's book goes, I'm not a fan. In addition to including some less scenic routes in favor of highly scenic ones, he intentionally changed the names of 13ers in his guidebook even though they existed in previous guidebooks under previously used names (and he knew this was the case).

In my opinion at least, this point should be named East Henrys Fork Peak. It was published as such as early as 1986 in Kelsey's Utah Mountaineering Guide 2nd edition. It's also published in the 3rd edition under that name from 1997. David Rose didn't publish his book until 2004.

I'm sure you will do a fine job of the page. Personally I'd change the name to East Henrys Fork Peak even though it's sort of a cumbersome name. It was still the unofficial name of the peak for several years before David Rose's book came out. It's your page though.

Re: Honorable Mentions?

Scott,

I have attached the Cliff Point page to the High Unitas Wilderness page.

As for the name "Cliff Point", is seems to be official, as I have seen it on no fewer than two maps, such as this one: https://mapper.acme.com/?ll=40.78862,-110.39597&z=19&t=C&marker0=40.78862%2C-110.39597%2Cunnamed

FYI, the Cliff Point page is now updated.

Let me say how impressive it is that you have contributed so much to Summitpost. Thanks for all your hard work!

Have a great day.
