Approach

Arrive with the car to the nice village of Thouraz: nice view on the central Valley from the balcoon in front of the small Church.
Come back and park the car close to the start of the non asphalted road (1655m); the yellow sign says: M. Fallere.

Route Description


Gran Combin, Mont Gele', the Morion, view from the top of Chaligne.

Follow this road; after a few hundreds meters, you will find a farm on your right, Arpy, 1758m; there is a yellow sign on your left (the road turn right); gring it; after a while, on your right, a nice path with again the indication M. Fallere, follows the same direction of the road: follow this path till a farm, named Morgnoz, 2069m.
After the farm, there is another road not asphalted; bring this one, and you will arrive to a group of farms with a very fine small church: Chesere, 2179m.

Follow again this road, as soon as it turns left, there is a yellow sign right side that gives you the direction; when you will see some trees, leave also this path, and climb along the one on your left, without signes, that cross the slopes of the mountain and at the end turns left and arrives to the Metz pass, 2486m.
A wide panorama is in front of you. At this point, you reach the path that arrives from Buthiers, and follow it till the top, on your left, with 2 crosses in wood.
Around, a beautiful panorama on the most important mountains.

Come back to the Mets Pass: down, on your left, there is a farm, from which departs a non asphalted road: reach this road, and follow it for a few hundreds meters, till when it turns left. At this point, there is a grass in front of you: straight on, direction south, you will find a path quite steep, in a beautiful bush of pick pines.
Come down along this path: when the trees are less, turn left, following the path, and after, when it goes up, turn down on your right, till an adandoned farm, with a lot of water: there yolu will find on your left anothere track that will bring you easily to the point of departure.
