Wild Hazelnuts

Wild Hazelnuts

I took this picture near Black Creek on July 8 , 2007. Common Hazel (Corylus avellana) is very common in the Low Beskid. Its seeds are nuts 1–2.5 cm long and 1–2 cm diameter, surrounded by a husk. These nuts are still unripe. As they ripen the color of the husk will turn dark brown.
