Part 3 of an overcaffeinated road trip of 4800 miles from Utah at Thanksgiving!
3 day trip...
Little did I know I would get this into state highpoints.
I was close to a breaking point at work and my wife chased me out the door to get away.
Figured I had only 3 left east of Colorado, so I hit it: MS, AL, FL. This was the second stop of the three.
Did this one well after dark after a 15-hour drive. Cheated and drove to the top. Based on intel, I was not concerned about hiking or missing any view.
On a business trip swung over to bag this HP.
Wanted to work for this one, but time was running short so I did the driveup.
We drove to the top as we were short on time. We also got a geocache called "Mississippi High" right near the top. I like the mailbox!
The last of my "3 pack" weekend including Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
First of a 4 highpoint weekend for Jimmy's birthday weekend [with Jimmy]
State HP #30 for me. Woodall was just a drive through the forest. Not too exciting, the first of 4 high points on my Bday weekend!
Another drive up. Nothing spectacular about it, but have added it to the "done" list.
My first state highpoint.
Enjoyed the drive, a little bit of rain but had the summit to myself!
Drove up because it was about to get dark. Did a backflip off the summit boulder (highest backflip ever done in MS??). Eat at the Homestead Restaurant in Iuka after or before visiting this one, it's a great place to grab some country food with very friendly people.
Fourth HP on a 3 week road trip thru 17 states. Drive-up at night, not too exciting. More rain.
HP #21. Didn't like driving up and down that steep summit drive. Part of Thanksgiving Long Weekend high pointing trip on 7 Southern States: AL, TN, GA, SC, NC, FL, MS.
This was the 1st mountain of our 30 hour trip thru Mississippi and Alabama. The mountain is non-descript. My two boys (12 and 7) did enjoy running around on top of the mountain. Not much to do here so we didn't linger. Highpoint #12 for me. Highpoint #7 for Q. Highpoint #7 for Carson.
Last on a trip of 16 HP's. We did the drive, snapped some pictures, and headed back to Texas. I did enjoy the history on the plaque at the top.
1st of a 3 state swing.. #17
Made the final assault and gaied the summit on April 6 near 3 o'clock.
