A Little About Me
When I first saw a mountain as a child, I didn't understand it. Why was it there? How did it get so big? How come nobody had knocked it down?
Where I grew up, you see, natural features are obstacles to be ground up and paved over. Got a swamp? Drain it! Snowfall? Clear it! A hill? Cut a parking lot into it!
But now, as an adult, I'm trying to do better. I'm learning to meet the hills as they are and roll with what they give me. Maybe someday I'll earn their freedom. ||
US State Highpoints Climbed: 39 (Got Elbert! And I would have climbed more if the entire Southwest hadn't been on fire in summer 2018--the national forests around Wheeler, Humphreys, and Whitney were all closed. Better luck next time I head west?)
