Route Description

From Thumel, follow trail no. 14 for Rifugio Benevolo (1h45min). Before arriving at a bridge just under Benevolo shelter, there is a shortcut (trail n. 13D) which cut off Benevolo hut. This will save about 10 minutes ...
From Benevolo hut, follow indication for Col Bassac Derè and Lago di Goletta (2.706 m., 3h00min). Take your time to visit Goletta Lake and the characteristic ice-foot from Goletta glacier, which touch water surface. Move on to Bassac Derè pass (3.082 m. 4h00min): cross a desert stone area, then a very steep rise to get to the pass. Snow is possible here, even at late season.
Once arrived at pass summit, turn left (south direction) to climb large and easy North ridge. In early season (June), crampons and ice-axe could help for last meters (3.337m. 4h45min).
Route very easy, without any orienteering and technical difficulties.

Essential Gear

Mountain wear, crampons and ice-axe in early season or with snow still on North ridge.
