This was the first item on the agenda for my first visit to Zion. Started up first thing in the morning--decidedly chilly, but no one else around then, although I ran into several groups on my way down. Pretty cool trail, but I think the NPS should remove those cables. Zion Canyon was every bit as spectacular as I'd anticipated.

Headed over to the Weeping Rock TH to tag Observation Pt afterwards, then over to North Guardian Angel in the afternoon.

Loved the view to the road and the Virgin River, down the 1500-foot vertical cliff.

Was at the top just as the dark descended. The moon rise was beautiful.

This was a great experience. Comming from Denmark Zion and the mountains is fantastic - and Angels Landing spectacular. The drops at several places are amazing.

Did this as a spur to the West Rim trail down from Lava Point. Incredible views. The "climbing" may be simple, but the exposure is very real. This is one of those great hike/climb routes (ala Half Dome cables) that offer a taste of adventure for non-climbers and big wimps like myself. We will have a trip report with picture available by mid-October, 2005 at www.sierrasoul.com

Wow. This was a really cool hike. Well worth it - the trail is paved and relatively easy. It's too bad they put those chains in up top because it's more fun to scramble anyway, and they're really not needed.

Big Fun, especially watching my hiking buddy get squeamish around the cables!

My favorite hike at Zion. Balancing physical being and agility. The views from the summit are remarkable and provide a surreal aspect of life.

What a great hike! Did it once from the canyon and once from the West Rim Trail, which was a great hike. We came from Kolob Canyon in June, only seeing one other group the whole trip. Southern Utah really stuck on me and, like the previous poster, decided to build nearby.

Fun trail for the family...I love Zion. This whole trip inspired me to build a winter place next to Snow Canyon State Park, St. George.

Angel  Sucess!

November 18, 2001 and December 27, 2016

I've always wanted to go back and hike Angels Landing in winter. A large snow storm dumped a ton of new snow in Zion. The entire route from the parking lot to the summit was covered in snow and ice. This made beautiful and unique conditions on the mountain.

Started out with Hail and a lightning storm in the parking lot. Made the first part of the hike very exciting. We got up to the last section before the chains in about an hour and then proceeded to make the second acsent of the day. I know this because there was only one set of foot prints in the snow ahead of me. It was sunny by the time I got to the top and the snow was melting with made the decent better. Absolutley amazing views from the top. Got to be some of the best in the world.

The most exposure I'd ever tasted, until I took up rock climbing. Can't be missed.

Despite all the people, this is one of the most incredible places I have ever been. Can't believe it was my 3rd trip to Zion before made the hike. Never will miss it again. Had a great day with my wife and about 1,000 others.
