Excellent Hike!  Sucess!

Great hike with my co-worker. We saw plenty of wildlife, including a deer, snakes, mountain goats (up-close!), and an assortment of other little critters. I was reminded again why this hike is a favorite for Utahns, with the beautiful cascading waterfalls, lush foliage, and dramatic views.

great views  Sucess!

Second peak I climbed in Utah. Definitely a busy trail even during the week. I climbed up during night hours with a full moon and headlamp. Did a 6 hr bivy near the lake and made it to the summit just before dawn. Amazing views of the metro area at night and sunrise over the Wasatch. Like others have noted, the many switchbacks make for a long hike. There is also rampant switchback cutting which makes finding the true trail somewhat difficult at times. The hut at the top and paved trail are definite eyesores for being in a wilderness area. Also the lower few miles of the trail are infested with noxious weeds (especially dalmatian toadflax).

First Mountain ever!  Sucess!

I was 16 when I first climbed Timp via Aspen Grove. It was a crowded labor day hike, but it was a lot of fun.

Frustratingly Long  Sucess!

Aspen Grove is a great trail. It is somewhat steep and has many, many switchbacks. I think the trail could be shorter if the trail didn't have so many long switchbacks. Overall, a great trail with amazing views.
