Basalt Cave...

The view from Basalt Cave looks down into the Hawk Creek drainage of Lake Roosevelt on the Columbia River. The ridge of basalt that drops into the lake in center-frame forms a shoulder of the anchorage known as Basalt Cave Cove where our 30' sailboat Aquila is anchored. On a 90* summer's day its a hot 1,000 verticle foot climb. Bring plenty of water and watch out for rattlesnakes.
