Breidden Hill the Quarry Cliffs

Breidden Hill the Quarry Cliffs

The horrible scar created by the industrial quarry action that takes place here for basalt. Mainly used for road stone and railway balast, basalt shows that these hills have had a volcanic past to them. The River Severn can be seen on the flood plains below and in the distance there are views into the great Cambrian Mountains and Cadair Idris.
