| Got a puppy 5 days ago, and I've taken him out hiking every day. He's just 6 weeks old and gonna be a great little hiking companion. This was his first summit. Nice easy hike from the access road. | |

| Took about 15 minutes. One year I ran from the start of Rock Canyon to within 5 minutes of the top when I stepped through a den of rattlesnakes. There were four of them. Turned around after shooting all the adrenaline in my body. | ||

| Squaw Peak road still had a few patches of snow blocking it so I decided to go to Buffalo Peak. | |

| I jogged up to the summit in a few minutes and then went down the rock slide to hit the squaw peak trail. It took a bit to get there, but it was lovely; lots of birds and such. I bushwacked my way back up to get the trail back to the road and it was pretty terrible, but still fun! I got covered in spider webs. | |

| Listed on the main page for this peak as Rout 3. This route is about 2 miles one way about 1400 ft elevation gain. Made this feel like more of an accomplishment than just parking .2 miles away. Great little morning hike. Took my wife with me. It was her first time hiking up to a peak. =) I think she's excited to go bag some more this summer. | |

| I've climbed this multiple times, with the most recent being April 21, 2012. We made it in the 4x4 about 1/2 mile from the Route 1 trailhead. Walked up the snowy road from there and then on the trailhead. There was no snow once we reached the T intersection. Quick trip-took our time and still less than an hour round trip. Driving took longer. | |

| Oct 21, 2012 - went for a drive and took a few minutes out to wander up this little peak. I like the view over to Squaw Peak. ******************************************************* Apr 15, 2012, Started at Rock Canyon on the same trail as Squaw Peak. At the Hamongong where the Squaw trail turns left to head west we headed east and bushwacked our way up the west ridge of Buffalo Mtn to the peak. It took less than 3 hours to reach the peak. Next we headed down the standard summer trail on the east side taking us to the Squaw Peak road. There was still a foot of snow on the road and we followed it to Rock Canyon Campground and made our way down Rock Canyon back to the trailhead. R/T, at a lesiurely pace, was 5 hours. | |

| made a quick hike up to the top and then and found a way up to Lion's Head which is nearby. The next day, I hiked up from the TH for the Y and hiked up Maple Peak. A couple days after that, I hiked up Squaw Peak which I had seen from the top of Buffalo which makes this a convenient area to hike in. | |

| Started from the Rock Canyon TH. Took First Left Fork Trail to the saddle between Squaw and Buffalo. Took the trail to Squaw and then went up Buffalo's SW ridge which was pretty bushwhacky at times but not too bad. About 7.7 miles RT for both peaks. | |
