Câlnic Fortress
Câlnic Fortress
Built in the 2nd half of C13, Cetatea Câlnic (RO), Burg Kelling (DE), Kelneki vár (HU) is an important historical monument. It is composed of the gate tower, the inner and outer walls, the temple, the parish house and especially 27 m tall Siegfried tower, which is the most representative structure of this stronghold.
Since 1999 this World Cultural Heritage has been part of UNESCO Villages with Fortified Churches in Transylvania.
